A little of this and a little of that
➔ No doubt that there is a lot that goes into a successful job search. Here we will touch on a few random thoughts that may provide that extra boost, or that additional insight that may help you find your way.
That extra push
Many job seekers employ recruiters to aid in their job searches. The benefits are many, but this is one benefit that can help the job seeker or at least provide some much needed peace of mind. There may be nothing more frustrating for a job seeker than to have to wait to hear back from a potential employer. Yet, no one wants to annoy an employer by being a pest.
The solution is to let the recruiter do that for you. They do that on a regular basis so they’re more comfortable doing it – and, in many cases, they may know the employer which makes it much easier for them to play the intermediary.
Speaking of…
Along that same line, one of the questions a good job seeker takes into every interview is to close with asking for a follow-up time. “Can I call you back next week?” “Will you be ready to move before the first of the month?” Not only does that demonstrate your interest in the job and/or organization, but it gives you something tangible to hang your hat on.
A place for AI
A good job for AI in your job search is to use it to determine some metrics for your search. Such things most likely vary by industry, position, geography, etc., ask AI for some insights as to how many new contacts you should be making, how many interviews you should have, how many networking events or meetings you should be attending. There are many factors that affect your situation.
When you’re looking for a job, everything is important. The more tricks that you can do to streamline the process and lessen your anxiety the better.
