Nobody Wants Me!

Many older job seekers today are feeling unwanted (and maybe even unloved,) unimportant and, perhaps most of all, unappreciated – or at least under-appreciated.

    After all those years and decades of nose-to-the-grindstone and, there are so many employers who won’t even give them the time of day. In fact, many hiring managers are specifically looking for evidence of age so as to cast older applicants onto the scrap heap of work history.

    BUT, all is not lost. There are employers (aka “the smart ones”) who appreciate older workers for all that they can bring to the table. “Yeah, but where can we find these golden nuggets?”

    Glad you asked. There are organizations that have made it their business to seek out age-friendly employers and list them. There are no guarantees that you will find a job with any of these companies, but you also won’t get ushered out the door without cause. Here are just a few of those lists:
